 Southwest has announced they will begin service in a new market starting November 1, 2009 –Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  This is after they have started service to Boston, MA, and La Guardia Airport, New York, this summer. Air Tran has also announced plans to expand their service out of Milwaukee to Denver, Co and St. Louis, Mo and on to Washington, DC.  We will keep you up to date with these new schedules and when they will be scheduled to begin.

.A new airline is scheduled to begin July 13, Jet America.  Clearwater-based SunAmerica is backing the new public charter operation using the former Skybus model of serving secondary air travel markets with extremely cheap flights.  From Newark, NJ, JetAmerica proposes six weekly flights to Toledo, OH; three a week to Lansing, MI; and to Melbourne, FL; plus two weekly to South Bend, IN.  On August 14, JetAmerica plans to add service linking Toledo to Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. Fares will be starting one way at $9 to $199, and baggage check in fee of $15 as well as fees for extras such as food, drinks, and in-flight TV.  For additional information on this flight option, please ask your Traveline agent.

Hotels

Embassy Suites has announced a new configuration to their product – a one room suite.  Beginning with their property in Buffalo, NY, Embassy Suites will be reconfiguring a room to be just a one room suite rather than the normal two room suite.  This single room will actually have an adjoining door to the two room suite in case additional space is needed. Otherwise, the singe room suite will be available at a lower cost to customers.  We will let you know as soon as the option may be available for you! 

Car Rental
When renting a car, it is always a good idea to consider whether or not to stop to fill up the gas tank on the way back to the rental location.  We have a graph that was put together by Enterprise Rent-A-Car which notes the per gallon cost if the car rental fills up the tank after you turn in your car rental.  You may be surprised at the difference in cost not only between car companies but also the difference between if you filled up the tank verses the care rental company. This is one more way that you can reduce your travel costs!
